eNNOVATE Expo is a technology exhibition and conference series. Its objective is to popularize technology by enabling people better understand and appreciate the workings of technological tools and applications. In so doing, it also helps to enhance the adoption and usage of these tools and applications enabling them perform better in the marketplace, in the long run.
Ultimately, in demystifying technology by making it more popular and giving people a reason to employ technological tools in their everyday lives, eNNOVATE aims to contribute to bridging the digital divide.
Now in its third consecutive year, the inaugural eNNOVATE Expo was organized in 2005. The Expo is traditionally held at the MUSON Centre, located in Onikan, Lagos.
eNNOVATE was conceptualized and developed by leading communications consultancy, XLR8. It is organized annually by XLR8 with the active support and backing of the Ministry of Communications and the Nigerian Communications Commission.
OUR VISION
To become the leading technology showcase forum in Africa. By providing a veritable platform for enhancing popular appreciation and adoption of technological tools and applications as well as a feedback loop for technology vendors and providers, e-NNOVATE is expected to emerge in due course as the ultimate showcase, of creativity and innovation in the application of technology to our everyday lives, whether at work, rest or play.
THE e-NNOVATE OBJECTIVE
Statistics show that access to ICT in Africa still fall very below what obtains in other parts of the world. One of the major fallouts of this development is that in the appreciation and adoption of technology to our everyday lives, Africa still lags far behind. It is this realization and its wider implication among others that informed the emergence of the sobriquet, “the digital divide”.
Nevertheless, the world of technology is ever evolving and advancing at a rapid pace. Advances in wireless technologies, for instance, portend huge opportunities for Africa to leap-frog and bridge much of that divide.
The e-NNOVATE Expo series is an attempt at bridging the digital divide. Its approach is three-pronged;
One, it aims to encourage the de-mystification of technology by providing technology companies a platform not only to showcase technology but also to train potential users and observers alike on the uses and applications of such technology.
Secondly, it aims to provide technology operators with useful empirical gauge and feedback mechanism in measuring the popularity of their product and service solutions among the users and potential users.
Third, it also aims to guide operators on the conceptualization, development and marketing of innovative solutions by technology operators to optimize value for the operators themselves as well as their potential customers.
The consequence naturally, is a robust impact on economic growth and development.

eNNOVATE 2008 will hold at the Shehu Musa Ya'adua Centre, Abuja, from Sept 23-24, 2008. Attendance is from 8.00am to 5.00pm daily.
